Surrounded by two beautiful rivers, the historic
community of Dunnellon lies between the plush thoroughbred horse farms of Ocala,
Florida and the Gulf of Mexico. With its carefully preserved Old Florida
character and spirit of hospitality, its spectacular rivers, springs, vegetation
and wildlife - all only 15 miles from the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico -
Dunnellon is the perfect gem in Florida's natural paradise. |

Residents can gain a sense of the early days as
they stroll the oak-lined streets and view the authentically restored nineteenth
century homes. Just north of Dunnellon is Rainbow Springs State Park with
Florida's second largest artesian spring emptying between 315 to 795 million
gallons of water into the Rainbow River each day. Great for boating, tubing,
canoeing, swimming, diving and snorkeling, the crystal clear Rainbow River winds
southward and meets up with the mighty Withlacoochee River in downtown
Dunnellon. Known world wide for its largemouth bass, the Withlacoochee River
offers freshwater fishing at its finest and runs west out of Dunnellon into the
Gulf of Mexico where saltwater fishing is abundant. Dunnellon's central location
is minutes away from larger cities such as Ocala, Gainesville, Inverness and
Crystal River Florida on the Gulf of Mexico. Only 90 minutes away are all the
major tourist attractions such as Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios in
Orlando, Florida and Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. The area's dramatic
springs and vibrant waterways, delightful climate and most certainly its
location on U.S. 41 makes Dunnellon the ideal Florida place to
live. |
